The 31st Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival was hot in more ways than one. Hot not only describes the weather during the three-day festival (Aug. 10-12) held at Rainbow Lagoon Park, located on Long Beach’s Shoreline Drive, it also describes the talent that filled the impressive roster.

Friday’s lineup included Jonathan Butler, Maysa, Kim Waters, and Marion Meadows. Saturday’s lineup consisted of Marcus Miller, Poncho Sanchez, Everette Harp, Chante Moore, Doc Powell, Nick Colionne, Eric Roberson, and Nick Smith. Sunday’s lineup boasted Stanley Clarke, Randy Crawford, Kirk Whalum, Keiko Matsui, David Benoit, Marc Antoine, Brian Simpson and Jazmin Ghent. The festival is under the direction of Kimberly Benoit, president of Rainbow Promotions. #lbjazzfest
