Powered By The Success Of Original Series “Best Ink” “Find Me My Man,” “Bad Girls All Star Battle” And “Bad Girls Club” Network Enjoys Impressive Double Digit Growth Year over Year
NEW YORK – June 3, 2013–Oxygen Media
enjoys a banner month in May powering into the top 20 ad-supported
cable networks with women 18-34 and women 18-49 for the month of May,
according to Nielsen. Oxygen shattered ratings records this month,
delivering its best week in network history among adults 18-34 (203,000)
and women 18-34 (149,000) the week ending May 26, as well as scoring
its best night ever in primetime among all key demos on May 21. The
network posted impressive double-digit growth in key demos
year-over-year in primetime (May 2013 vs. May 2012), marking a 25
percent increase among adults and women 18-34, up 20 percent among
adults and 21 percent among women 18-49, and up 12 percent in total
viewers. Driven by original programming including “Best Ink,” “Find Me My Man,” “Bad Girls All Star Battle,” and “Bad Girls Club," May delivered four telecasts surpassing one million total viewers and averaged 442,000 total viewers in primetime.
May was a
milestone month for Oxygen with multiple series earning record ratings
including “Best Ink” season two, which delivered its two highest
performances of the series among adults 18-49 in back-to-back weeks
(5/15/13 with 379,000 and 5/22/13 with 354,000). The popular tattoo
competition series hosted by Fall Out Boy bassist, musician and tattoo
enthusiast Pete Wentz, is averaging 535,000 total
viewers, up five percent compared to the previous season (Live+SD).
"Find Me My Man," the network's new matchmaking series featuring Miami’s
premiere matchmaker to the urban elite Natalie Clarice,
is averaging 529,000 total viewers, marking impressive triple digit
growth up 144 percent compared to the same time period last year.
Continuing to be a pop culture hit in its 10th season, "Snapped" is averaging 666,000 total viewers, up 14 percent versus the same time period last year.
Hosted by actor, musician and heartthrob Ray J,
the premiere of “Bad Girls All Star Battle” (5/21/13) earned the
network’s highest season premiere ever, scoring 1.7 million total
viewers as well as the highest rated series premiere ever among total
viewers, adults 18-49 (1 million) and women 18-49 (814,000). In
primetime, Oxygen ranked as the #1 cable network among women 18-49 and
women 18-34, out delivering CBS. Furthermore, “Bad Girls Club” and “Bad
Girls All Star Battle” were the #1 and #2 cable telecasts of the day
among women 18-49 and women 18-34. Dominating the conversation online
as well, “Bad Girls Club” and “Bad Girls All Star Battle” ranked as the
#1 and #2 most tweeted about series of the day across all of broadcast
and cable.
Also in May,
Oxygen ranked as the #2 most social cable network in the reality genre,
boosted by 1.3 million social comments, and “Bad Girls Club” and “Bad
Girls All Star Battle” ranked as the #2 and #3 most social cable reality
series respectively according to Bluefin.
