Multi-award
winning ROGUE MACHINE THEATRE (BEST
PRODUCTION Award winner 2013, 2011 and 2010 - Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, Ovation)
is back for their SEVENTH SEASON in Los Angeles, beginning May 24, 2014.
SEASON
SEVEN main stage offerings will include the Los Angeles Premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph’s GRUESOME PLAYGROUND
INJURIES (Bengal Tiger at the Bagdad Zoo - NEA Award BEST PLAY),
directed by Larissa Kokernot (Ovation
Award winning production of Family Planning for Chalk
Repertory). Charting the intersection of two lives, the manipulations of their
relationship, and the cumulative damage of wounds inflicted, intimacy may never
have looked so familiar, funny, and frightening. The cast will include Bradley
Fleischer, who originated the role of Doug. The schedule will be 5 p.m. Saturdays,
7 p.m. Sundays, and 8pm Mondays through July 12th. Tickets are $30 at http://www.roguemachinetheatre.com.

“Our season opener comes
from a very impressive playwright who has cleverly captured our ability to love
and how it follows us from childhood. Those early experiences inform our
behavior and lack of ability for intimacy in our adult relationships. It’s a
funny serious subject, so audiences can have a good time laughing while taking
a very thought provoking journey,” says Artistic
Director, John Perrin Flynn
Opening June 7th will be PENELOPE, written by Tony Award winner Enda Walsh and
directed by John Perrin Flynn. Let the games begin! An unforeseen dark comedic
adventure through atonement and redemption, allegorically rich with subtext,
with a magical surprise. This is the Hunger Games as only Enda Walsh could
write it.
The
World Premiere of NICE THINGS by multi-award winning
playwright Vince Melocchi (Lions) will open in the late summer/early
fall of 2014, with four stories, four characters, and an unexpected
inter-related investigation into the consequences of their actions. Mike
Bartlett’s Olivier Award winning comedy,
COCK, will follow. Originally
staged at the Royal Court Theatre,
with a hugely successful subsequent run Off-Broadway, it comes to Rogue Machine
as the West Coast Premiere.
A playful, candid look at one man's sexuality and the difficulties that arise
when you realize that you have a choice.
