Andern
Educational Research, Inc.
(AER) is a new nonprofit that was founded in 2012 by a group of dedicated
parents and educators with the mission to develop, promote, support, and
provide educational opportunities to students of color and families who live in
low income and undeserved areas of the community. AER’s main goal is to
considerably increase the number of well-educated young people of color who are
prepared to assume and excel in positions of responsibility and leadership in
American society. In the first year of operations, Andern has made an impact in
the community by contributing over $100,000 in scholarships and funds to
support students of color attending private high schools, $50,000 has been
contributed in support of local charter schools and over $25,000 in support to
community based organizations that provide education, health and fitness and
mentoring services to young people. For more information on AER visit www.andern-educational-research.org
AER aims to
raise $1Million in funds for its Greater Educational Milestones (GEMs) initiative
with the Music 4 the Soul Benefit Concert. The GEMs’ Initiative is high
school placement program that seeks to find, advocate and support highly
motivated and qualified students of color from South Los Angeles, Watts,
Inglewood, and Compton and place them in private high schools. Through outreach
in these communities, GEMs identifies and brings awareness to the educational
opportunities available to these students. GEMs serves as a resource to our
private schools while providing educational and financial support of up to
$20,000 over 4 years for each student we place in a private high school. For
more information on the GEMs Initiative visit www.reachgems.org.
Andern
Educational Research, Inc. has
partnered with several well known private and parochial schools to make these
